FORT MILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – Willard E. Gilkison, Sr., 94, of Fort Mill, SC formerly of East Liverpool passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.
Willard was born in East Liverpool on January 16, 1927 a son of the late Eugene and Regina (Hissom) Gilkison. He was an Army veteran proudly serving during WW II and also served in the Ohio National Guard. Willard worked as a gold liner at the pottery and also at Crucible Steel. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly #804 in Columbiana. Willard was a loving husband, father and grandfather that was dedicated to his family and loved spending time with them.
Preceding Willard in death was his wife, whom he married April 10, 1948, Janice D. “Jane” (Duncan) Gilkison.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Lisa Cameron and her husband Carl of Fort Mill, SC; two sons Willard E. “Bud” Gilkison, Jr. of East Liverpool and Todd Gilkison and his wife Tammy of East Liverpool and grandson Landen Cameron of Fort Mill, SC.
Friends may visit Saturday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church by Fr. Leo Wehrlin on Saturday at 12 p.m. Burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park where Tri State Veterans Burial Group will provide military honors.
