Obituary for William A. Christian
EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – William A. Christian, 93, of East Liverpool passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the Orchards of East Liverpool.
William was born in Midland, PA on January 30, 1927, a son of the late William and Willie Eva (Allen) Christian. He retired from Crucible Steel in 1983 after 40 years of service as a shearman. William was a veteran of the US Army proudly serving during WW II. As an active member of the 2nd Baptist Church William loved the Lord as his Savior proudly serving as a deacon and singing in the choir.
William was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Mae (Prince) Christian; two sons Bruce A. Christian and Jeffrey Christian; four brothers Clifton, Raymond, Charles and Wesley Christian and four sisters Cornell Nizer, Doris Ann Campbell, Geraldine Christian and Eleanor Jane Christian.
Left to cherish his memory are two sons Jerry Christian and his wife Roberta of Fountain Hill, PA and Richard Wright of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters Rosalind Bowden and her husband Ronald of Laveen, AZ and Arlene Jones and her husband Daniel “Boonie” of Columbus, OH; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the 2nd Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Rev. Earnest Peachey will conduct a funeral service Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the 2nd Baptist Church, 1091 Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, OH 43920. Burial will be at Calcutta Cemetery.
Following the service, friends and family will gather at the 2nd Baptist Church, 1091 Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, OH 43920 for fellowship.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the families of Gerald and Susan Christian and Guy and Brenda Roy for the exceptional care they provided to William in his final years.
