East Liverpool, Ohio- William James “Big Cuz” Fleming, Jr. of West Sixth Street went home to be with Jesus on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Calcutta Health Care center following a lengthy illness.
Born January 19, 1954, he was a son of the late William J. and Josephine DeSarro Fleming. A retired truck driver known as “Chopper” who lived in Florida for over 40 years, he moved back to Ohio in 2008. Billy was family oriented and had a big heart. He was Christian by faith and he loved Eagles and Wolves.
Survivors include his daughter, Jodi Ann Cartechine of Palm Bay, Florida and his grandchildren, Hailey Cartechine and Kenny Cartechine of Palm Bay.
He also leaves behind a niece, Katie Fleming-Lyssand and sister-in-law, Cathy Fleming of California; great nephews Dylan and Christopher and Aunt Antoinette Means of Canton, Ohio; Aunt Caroline Larkins of Onalaska, Texas; Aunt Shirley Curran of Largo, Florida; and many cousins.
Besides his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann Carlin; and by one brother, David Michael Fleming.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Wellsville, Ohio.
