Obituary for William L. "Bill" Keys

William L. “Bill” Keys, 75

EAST LIVERPOOL – William L. “Bill” Keys, of East Liverpool, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Oak Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center in Baltic, Ohio. He was 75.

Born in East Liverpool, November 17, 1945, he was a son of the late Earl Keys and Maude Weekley Keys Stanley. A resident of this area most of his life, he worked at Airco at one time and was a bus driver for Lisbon Exempted Village Schools. A Vietnam veteran, he served in Vietnam and was awarded three Purple Hearts and one Bronze Star. A member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1966, he was also a member of the Lions Club and the First Free Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam D. Keys, on April 14, 2014. The couple married October 6, 1979. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Bleigh and Alice Krecken, and three brothers, Ronald Keys, Robert Keys and L. Duane Keys.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: a daughter, Joelle Pratali and her husband, Robert, of Pickerington, and a son, Timothy Keys and his companion, Dee, of East Liverpool, as well as seven grandchildren: Andrea “Nikki” Keys, Jacquiline Harris, Brooke Keys, Kirk Keys, Tyler Keys, Zachary Pratali and Nathan Pratali, and seven great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are a sister, Gloria Murphy of Lisbon and Larry Keys of Pennsylvania.

Private family services were conducted at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial was at Riverview Cemetery.
