Obituary for William LeRoy "Bill" Lapham

East Liverpool, Ohio- William L. “Bill” Lapham, 84, formerly of McDonald Street passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 2:10 p.m. at the Calcutta Health Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Born June 29, 1935, he was the son of the late Bert and Esther Starkey Lapham. A lifetime area resident, he retired from the Allied Security Company in 2015. Prior to that he had work at Airco in Newell, West Virginia and at the former Crucible Steel Company in Midland, Pennsylvania.

A graduate of East Liverpool High School in 1953 and a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany during the late 1950’s. He was a member of the East Liverpool Moose Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia A. “Ginny” Lapham, whom he married March 3, 1962, on May 19, 2010.

Survivors include three daughters, Kimberly Murphy and her husband, John of East Liverpool, Ohio, Hollie Morgan and her husband, Jan of Chester and Jill Massaro and her husband, David of East Liverpool.

There are seven grandchildren, Megan and her husband, Jonathon, Sarah, Alyssa, Andy and his wife, Nikki, Cody, Nicholas and Nicole; and six great-grandchildren, Brandi, Mileigh, Kadyn, Delaynee, Amelia and Fox.

In addition, he is also survived by one sister, Sherry White and her husband, Elbert of East Liverpool.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool. Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville 1st Christian Church will officiate a funeral service at 4:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Calcutta Cemetery.

Immediately following the service family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center.
