Obituary for William Franklin Thayer

William F. “Bill” Thayer, lifetime East Liverpool resident, passed away at the age of 57 on Monday evening, June 9, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.

Born in East Liverpool on September 27, 1956, he was a son of Mary L. Burris Thayer and the late George F. Thayer.

A graduate of East Liverpool High School, he had attended Northside Church for several years.

Surviving are his sisters Sally Ann Murray and her husband, Robert, of Lisbon; and Joyce Louise Thayer of Jonesboro, AR; along with brothers Gary T. Thayer and his wife, Claire, of Chester; and Richard C. “Dick” Thayer and his wife, Karen, of East Liverpool.

Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Connie McDevitt, who passed away in 2001.

Also surviving are two nephews, Rich Thayer and Tyler Thayer, both of East Liverpool, as well as two great-nephews, Grayson and Cassius Thayer.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Friday, with Pastor Larry Rose of the church officiating.

Bill will be laid to rest beside his father and his sister at Calcutta Cemetery. The family and friends will return to the Dawson Family Center following the burial for a continued time of fellowship.
