Obituary

Obituary for Williard Bruce Ferrebee

East Liverpool, Ohio- Williard B. Ferrebee, 85, of Cain Street, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 12:16 pm at East Liverpool City Hospital.

Born January 21, 1935 in Doddridge County, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Benjamin Issac and Lona Blanch Gaines Ferrebee.

He spent most of his life in this area retiring from the former Crucible Steel Company in Midland, Pennsylvania in 1982 after 25 years of service. He then worked for Homer Laughlin China Company in their Water Department for 22 years. A veteran of the United States Army serving from 1956 to 1958, he attended the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church and helped with their food pantry as well as the food pantry of Longs Run Trinity Presbyterian church.

A member of the Masonic Lodge #681 in East Liverpool and the Scottish Rite of Steubenville where he earned the 32 degree.

Williard loved to enjoy his family especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, working outside, and helping others… always with a smile on his face.

He leaves behind his wife, E. Jean Maltarich Ferrebee, whom he married August 28, 1959, at home. There are two daughters, Rhonda Thomas and her husband, Mark of Calcutta, Ohio, and Beth Chupa and her husband, Ken of Dunedin, Florida; and two sons, D. Jeff Ferrebee of Lewisville, Texas, and David Ferrebee and his wife, Lisa of Boardman, Ohio.

He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Matt, who was like his son, and his wife Danielle, Stacia and her husband, Jeff, Morgan and her husband, Luke, Taryn and her husband, Jason, Ryan, Jordan and her companion, Austin, and Alec. There are six great grandchildren and one great great-grandson.

He leaves behind two sisters, Linda Davis and Judy Zakovich; and one brother, Walter Ferrebee.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Marge Watson; and by one brother, Joseph Ferrebee.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio. Pastor Margie Zellars of the church will officiate a funeral service at 4:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. In compliance with state regulations with concerns of the COVID -19 virus anyone who is planning on attending the public visitation is required to wear a mask while in the funeral home. The family would like to recognize and acknowledge the efforts of Williard’s granddaughter Jordan Chupa for her actions after her grandfather took ill at home.

Sorry I couldn’t make it , Over the years Williard was the best to work with, always could work circles around anyone and was proud of it, always talked about family and I think he knew everyone in liverpool, going to miss his visits.
