Obituary for Willie L. Wilson

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – Willie “Lou” “Mamma Willie” “Pooh” Wilson, 68, of Boardman, Ohio passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.

Willie was born in East Liverpool on November 25, 1953. She was a kind humble person that loved supporting her family. She loved to cook and her passion for cooking was her way of sharing her love with family, friends and the community. Mamma Willie was a pillar of her community, doing many things to help people and her family. She was a member of Taft Promise and the 7th Ward Coalition. She was also a member of Victory Church.

Preceding Willie in death were her daughter Roza L. Wilson; mother Rev. Willie I. Wilson; sister Donna Jean Wilson and brother Jeremiah Wilson.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons Hasheen A. Wilson and his wife Paula of Columbiana, OH and Daniel P. Wilson of Boardman, OH; daughter Emily Powell; seven grandchildren Darian “Pooh” Wilson of Reading, PA, John “Jay” Kennedy III of Pittsburgh, PA, Tychius, Mathis, Nina, Lainey and Weslie; sister Azie Lee Joy of Lancaster, PA; brother Gary Wilson of Youngstown, OH and a host of many other family and friends.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Saturday where the family will be present from 1 to 2 p.m. Rev. Tom Thompson and her son Minister HaSheen Wilson will conduct a celebration of life service at the Funeral Home on Saturday at 2 p.m.
