Obituary for Woodrow L. "Woody" Thompson III
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE – Woodrow L. “Woody” Thompson III, 41, of East Liverpool passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville, Tennessee.
Woody was born in East Liverpool on August 2, 1979. He was a free spirited cheerful person. He loved listening to music and playing basketball. Woody was an avid Steelers fan. He attended Robert Bycroft School and EDI in Calcutta.
Preceding Woody in death was his father Woodrow L. Thompson II.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother Phyllis M. (Danzo) Hickman and her husband Lester of East Liverpool; three sisters Sarah Thompson and her fiancé Alvin Martin of Lisbon, Brandy Cotton of Cortland, OH and Kristina Hickman of East Liverpool; brother Clayton Thompson of East Liverpool; six nephews Jeremy Schmitt of Salem, Brandon Schmitt of Lisbon, Christopher Schmitt of Lisbon, Reese Cotton of Cortland, OH, Gavin Hickman of East Liverpool and Jaxson Lovett of East Liverpool; five nieces Alana Thompson of Salem, Alara Martin of Lisbon, Katalina Martin of Lisbon, Braelyn Cotton of Cortland, OH and Kylee Board of East Liverpool; great nephew Phoenix Wolfe; two great nieces Karli Thompson and Anika Wolfe and step mom Lisa Thompson of East Liverpool.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Friday where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Bill Cox, his uncle, will conduct a funeral service Saturday 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery. In compliance with Ohio state regulations with concerns of the COVID-19 virus masks must be worn at all times in the funeral home.
