Obituary

Rudy Frank, 91

EAST LIVERPOOL – Adolfo "Rudy" Frank, a beloved member of the East Liverpool community, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, March 18, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was 91.

Born February 17, 1933, in East Liverpool, a son of the late Dominic and Lauretta Fava Frank, Rudy's life was a testament to dedication and service. A graduate of East Liverpool High School, Class of 1951, he furthered his education at the Ohio Valley Business College. Rudy dedicated years of his life to the Crucible Steel Company, where he served as a lab technician until his retirement in 1980. In addition to his work at the mill, he co-owned Frank's Carry Out, serving both the East Liverpool and Wellsville communities.

Rudy's commitment to public service was exemplified in his role as Safety Service Director for the City of East Liverpool. His leadership and unwavering dedication left an indelible mark on the city he cherished. For the last 30 years, he lived in Ft. Myers, Florida where he cherished his community of friends and neighbors.

A proud veteran of the Korean War, Rudy served honorably in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the former St. Ann's Catholic Church and later Holy Trinity Parish, where his faith was a guiding light. Rudy was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge 258, American Legion Post 374, and the East Liverpool Lions Club, where he embodied the spirit of service to others.

Beyond his civic contributions, Rudy's passion for music illuminated the lives of many. As a talented musician, he was the leading member of the dance band, the Tempos, who were well known throughout the Tri-State Area.

Rudy leaves behind a legacy of compassion, service, and community, but most of all, he loved his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Angeline M. Pugliano Frank, and a son, Judge Dominic A. Frank. He was also preceded by two sisters, Nancy DeSarro and Mary Vallera, and three brothers, Anthony "Tony" Frank, Dominic "Junior" Frank, and Vincent Frank.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Rudy Frank and his wife, Pamela, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and six grandchildren: Lt. Commander Dominic R. Frank and his wife, Karye, Lance Frank and his wife, Camila, Samuel M. Frank, Jayce C. Frank, Stuart B. Austin and his wife, Mandi, and Neely M. Pessin, along with six great-grandchildren: Lux Angelina Frank, Giovanni Frank, Camila Angeline Frank, Lance Frank, Jr., Taylor O'Lynn, and Autumn O'Lynn. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, as well as Dom's fiancée Hoi Wah Yu and her children.
