Wellsville, Ohio- Barbara Ann Lipscomb, 72, passed away Monday, August 2nd at 12:43 a.m. at her residence following a brief battle with cancer. Born October 14th, 1948, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Etta Rice Heffner. A lifetime area resident, she was a retired schoolteacher working at East Elementary teaching 3rd grade students for 38 years. She was a member of the ADK, an International Honorary Organization for Women Educators. Survivors include her husband, Bill Lipscomb, whom she married 50 years ago on December 29th, 1970, at home. She also leaves behind one daughter, Elizabeth Lipscomb and her husband, Daniel Nazarenko of Raleigh, North Carolina; and one son, William Lipscomb and Karen Lipscomb of Cheyenne, Wyoming. There are two grandchildren, Alice Nazarenko and Megan Nazarenko. Friends may visit the family on Friday from Noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio. Pastor Norm Eckert of the Beechwood Free Methodist Church will officiate a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park. The family requests contributions be made to the Salvation Army of East Liverpool, Ohio or to the American Cancer Society in Barbara's name.
