EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Beryldene W. Bertschy, 85, of East Liverpool passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at East Liverpool City Hospital.

Beryldene was born in Gypsy, WV on September 3, 1936 a daughter of the late Dennis and Rhoda (Bice) Squires. She was a graduate of Sutton High School class of 1954 in Sutton, WV. Beryldene was a member of the Good Shepherd UMC, Calcutta Garden Club and East Liverpool Seniors. She worked at National Church Envelope Supply in Chester and at Potters Lumber in Calcutta. She was also a homemaker and a former Cub Scout Den Mother for Pack 36. Beryldene was an avid bowler, bowling in leagues at Tristate Lanes and Friendly Lanes. She won many trophies and awards as a bowler even bowling in state tournaments.

Preceding Beryldene in death were her daughter Janet Bertschy; granddaughter Tere Woods Carney and two brothers Wayman and Harwood Squires.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, whom she married February 1, 1958, Robert H. Bertschy; son John D. Bertschy of West Point; three daughters Karen Bertschy of Calcutta, Lisa Carney of Canton and Nila Bertschy-Lawrence of Cleveland; eleven grandchildren Megan Lawrence, Loni Bialek, Rosie Marie Frost, Michael Lee Bertschy, Rachel Elizabeth Bertschy, Dennis D.J. Caldwell, Michelle D. Caldwell, Felisha R. Kennedy, Michaelena J. Oberschlake, Lee Ann Carney and Elizabeth N. Carney; brother Arol "Ike" Squires and his wife Rosie; 19 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Monday where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Jeff Pellin of Good Shepherd UMC will conduct a service on Tuesday at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
