Betty "Janie" Blankenship, 69

EAST LIVERPOOL – Betty Jane Blankenship, of East Liverpool, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the East Liverpool City Hospital. She was 69 years old.

Born in Pittsburgh, September 11, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Betty Roberts Ayers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tollie "Jap" Blankenship. She was also preceded by a sister, Judith Hughes and a brother, Roy Ayers.

Left to cherish Janie's memory are three daughters, Tammy Benak and her husband, Bob, of Omaha, Nebraska, Tracy Mesler and her husband, Randy, of East Palestine, and Vicki White of East Liverpool, and a son, Daniel Doerr of Pittsburgh. There are nine grandchildren: Matthew, Asia, Shayne, Ashley, Cierra, Samara, Jerrica, Phoenix and Tony; and nine great-grandchildren: JJ, Charlotte, Ben, Amelia, Royal, Charlee, Dawn, Layken and Mac, as well as one more expected in June. She is also survived by a sister Diane Board and a brother David Ayers.

Pastor Mark Blakeley will conduct a funeral service Saturday, March 21, at 3:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
