Obituary

Carol Lynne Walton, beloved wife of Larry Walton, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025.

She was born on September 28, 1936 a daughter of the late Albert and Mildred Pittenger, Carol grew up in East Liverpool, Ohio, where she graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1954. She continued her education at the College of Wooster, earning a degree in Music Education setting the foundation for a lifetime devoted to teaching and sharing her love of music.

Carol taught in the Beaver Local and Wellsville school districts, inspiring generations of students with her passion for music and her warm, encouraging spirit.

In June of 1962, Carol married Larry and together they built a loving home where they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage before Larry's passing earlier this year. They welcomed their daughter, Heather, in 1963.

Carol's deep faith and love for music found a home at Trinity Church, where she directed choirs and helped nurture a vibrant musical community. Reverend Miller paired her with Maxine Sutherland, and from that partnership blossomed a lifelong friendship filled with music, laughter, and shared purpose.

A dedicated community member, Carol gave her time and talents to many organizations, including the Jayceettes, Camp Fire, Quota Club, PMA, and The Easter Pageant on the Hillside. Her piano playing, choir directing, and kind leadership enriched every group she touched.

Carol will be remembered for her beautiful music, her unwavering faith, and her joyful heart that inspired all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Heather Dissette and her husband, Keith; her beloved grandchildren Jennifer Hughes and her husband Michael, Kristen, Brenden, Jolaina McKenzie and her husband Logan, and Joshua; her great-grandchildren Ariel, Evan, James, Zeke, Zoey and one on the way Elijah - who will carry forward her legacy of harmony, compassion, and song.
