ALEXANDRIA, VA – Darrell L. Hall, 76, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at his home in Alexandria, VA following a lengthy illness.

Beloved husband for 55 years to Judith Dawson Hall; cherished father to Meredith Page (Kevin), Brenna Hall and the late Corey Hall (Heidi Chase); grandfather of Susan, Mason, Brady, Hayden, Dawson, Carter, Evie and Cullen. He will truly be missed by many.

Darrell was born in East Liverpool, a son of the late Clara and Lester Hall. He was the first baby of an RH negative mother to receive a life-saving blood transfusion at East Liverpool Hospital. Darrell graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1965 and went on to attend Kent State University. Darrell and Judy married June 22, 1968 and he earned his bachelor's degree in accounting and would later become a CPA where he worked alongside his father-in-law, Harry Dawson. Furthering his career, he began working with Townsend and Bottum Construction Company where he managed the financial aspects on construction sites. During this time, he and Judy began their family and had two daughters, Meredith and Brenna. Darrell's job brought an opportunity to live out west and the family moved the Salt Lake City, Utah for 18 months. After moving back to East Liverpool, the couple had their third child, a son named Corey. He was the youngest and only boy to be born to his generation. In 1986, Darrell took a job with Schaer Associates, based in Alexandria. After a few years, Schaer was acquired by a larger global company named High Point. Both companies specialized in debt arbitration, specifically with bonds and insurance of construction contracts. This became Darrell's specialty, and even though he moved towards retirement, he still worked as a contractor on such projects for Lovett Silverman, based in New York, until age 75.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Corey, as well as two sisters, Sondra Perkins and Jana Lee Bennett.

Darrell is described by those who knew him as one-of-a-kind, warm, caring, an amazing friend, supportive, and fun-loving. A memorial service will be held at Dawson Funeral Home Saturday, September 2nd, at 11:00 a.m., with a luncheon following at the Dawson Family Center. He will be laid to rest with his parents at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
