Dennis H. Smith, Jr., 75

EAST LIVERPOOL – Dennis H. Smith, Jr., of East Liverpool, passed away Saturday morning, October 16, 2021, at the Orchard of East Liverpool. He was 75.

Born in East Liverpool, September 17, 1946, he was a son of the late Dennis H. Smith, Sr. and Grace Pethtel Smith. A 1964 graduate of East Liverpool High School, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the Vietnam War. For many years, he worked for the City of East Liverpool where he retired from the street department. He also worked in the sanitation department and water department. Prior to his work with the city, he had a brief career as a DJ at WOHI, and also worked at Patterson Industries and Crucible Steel.

He is survived by his children: a daughter, Holly Lynn Smith and her husband, Jason, of Micanopy, Florida, and a son, Rob Smith and his wife, Billie Jo, of East Liverpool, as well as four grandchildren: Jesse Smith and his wife, Sydney, Abby Smith, Ranger Smith and Vita Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Marie Smith.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to the Dawson Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
