Obituary

Kay Pridemore, 86

NEGLEY, OH – Eleanor Kay Pridemore, 86, of Negley, Ohio, peacefully entered her eternal home with the Lord on August 10, 2026. Born on June 8, 1940, Kay lived a life marked by faith, compassion, service, and devotion to her family, church, and community.

Kay was the beloved wife of James H. Pridemore, whom she married on December 23, 1961. Together they shared more than 64 years of love, faith, partnership, and cherished memories. She was the daughter of the late William W. and Estella E. Glenn Wright, she was raised by the late John and Eleanor Glenn Laughlin.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory: her husband, James H. Pridemore; her daughters, Eileen (George) Rice and Theresa (Paul) McCoy; her son, James K. (Beki) Pridemore; her sister, Eileen Bickle; her grandchildren, Kylee (Josh) Chuck, Paul (Sarah) McCoy, Cole McCoy, Mikala McCoy, and Nathan (Aidan) Rice; and her great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Chuck, Hailey Chuck, Paisley Wallace, Ryatt Wilson, Cooper McCoy, Haisley McCoy, and Jackson McCoy.

Kay was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Marisa Pridemore; her brother, Butch Wright; and her sister, Lee Plonkey.

A devoted caregiver, Kay dedicated 30 years of service as a Registered Nurse at East Liverpool City Hospital. Through her work, she touched countless lives with her skill, compassion, and gentle presence. Nursing was more than a career to her—it was a ministry of caring for others.

Kay was a faithful member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church since 1968. Her church family held a special place in her heart, and she joyfully served in many capacities throughout the years. She was a member of the choir, volunteered in the nursery, and enthusiastically participated in church events and outreach efforts, including ministries supporting the Rogers Boys Home. Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ guided every aspect of her life and was evident in the kindness and love she shared with others.

She also found great joy in sewing blankets for family members, friends, and neighbors. These handmade gifts were expressions of her generous spirit and desire to provide comfort and warmth to those she loved.

Kay will be remembered for her gentle heart, steadfast faith, servant's spirit, and deep devotion to her family. Her legacy of love, generosity, and Christian faith will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

Though her family grieves her passing, they find comfort in God's promise of eternal life and rejoice in knowing that Kay is now at peace in the presence of her Savior.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
