Geraldine A. Giordano Bryer, 91
EAST LIVERPOOL – Geraldine Ann Giordano Bryer of East Liverpool, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 91 on June 28, 2024. Born on June 12, 1933, she was the second youngest child in a vibrant family of ten children, earning the affectionate nickname "Babe" that reflected her cherished role and the deep bonds of family that defined her life.
Geraldine was known for her sharp wit and sweet, spunky personality, which brought laughter and light to the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. From a young age, she embraced her passion for arts and crafts, demonstrating her pottery painting skills at Acme Craftware. It was there that she met her beloved late husband, Richard J. "Dick" Bryer, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. Together, they raised five wonderful sons: Richard F. (companion Annie), Roland (Leonda), Robin, Roger (Tammy), and Ronald (Kelly), embracing the joys and challenges of a high-energy household and creating lasting family memories.
Geraldine and Richard's partnership extended beyond family life into business. Together, they successfully ran Bryer Realty, a testament to their shared vision, dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit.
In the kitchen, Geraldine lovingly embraced her Italian heritage, cooking homemade dishes for all who gathered around her table. In her later years, she enjoyed teaching her granddaughters how to cook, sharing her family recipes for generations to come.
Geraldine is survived by her devoted children, thirteen grandchildren, Lynette, Melissa, Adam, Abbie, James, Ryan, Jennifer, Roberto, Halie, Sarah, Glenn, Rory, and Isabel "Izzy", and eight great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her vibrant spirit, unwavering kindness, and enduring impact on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Madeline Rinaldo, Rose Vallone, Mary Tolson Johnson, Antonette Walker, Carmella Boyce, as well as her dear brothers, James, Fred, John, and Sam Giordano, and a granddaughter Amanda Bryer.
The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care Geraldine received at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation and Southern Hospice, as well as longtime caregivers Janice Hutchison and Nancy Reed.
Deacon Anthony Giordano, Geraldine's nephew, will conduct a funeral service Saturday, July 6, at 3:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home where friends may visit from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center where family will share stories, laughter in loving tribute to her life well-lived.
