JoAnne M. Sim Theiss, 93

EAST LIVERPOOL – JoAnne M. Sim Theiss, of East Liverpool, passed away Monday morning, February 9, 2026, at Heritage Valley Beaver. She was 93 years old.

Born in East Liverpool, July 15, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Alice M. Lister Sim. A resident of the area all her life, she was Catholic by faith. Joanne worked at Sevy's Pharmacy, which later became Family Apothecary, as a pharmacy tech.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Theiss, on August 9, 2020. The couple married November 24, 1956. She was also preceded by a brother, James Sim.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: a daughter, Ann M. Theiss-Inge of East Liverpool, and a son, Donald F. Theiss and his wife, Lynne, of Maryland. There are two grandchildren, Ian Theiss (Kathleen Brown) and Allison Inge. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Mary Sim, a niece, Rose Turner, and two nephews, Charlie Sim and Frank Sim. She will also be missed by her two cats, Barney and Katie.

Rev. Eric Edwards will conduct a funeral service at 12:00 noon Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
