Obituary

Joseph J. Brice, 76

EAST LIVERPOOL – Joseph J. Brice, 76, of East Liverpool, passed away Thursday morning, December 26, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth in Boardman following a brief illness.

Born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, on September 14, 1948, Joe was a son of the late John and Catherine Shaffer Brice. A graduate of New Castle High School, he went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Robert Morris College. In 1981, Joe relocated to the East Liverpool area, beginning a remarkable career with Hall China Company as a sales manager. He later continued in this role with Homer Laughlin until his retirement.

An avid swimmer, he was a familiar face at the YMCA in Calcutta. He cherished time spent outdoors, especially hunting and shooting, and his passion for golf introduced him to many cherished friends. Above all, Joe was a devoted family man who loved and his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Jacqueline L. Brice, whom he married on July 5, 1975. Joe is also survived by his two daughters, Kate Martin (Dr. Ben Martin) and Emily Heitz (Andy), and two granddaughters, Ellie and Emma Martin, who brought him joy.

He will be dearly missed by his brother, Jack Brice (Rose), and five sisters: Kathy Weinschenk (Bob), Maureen McBride, Rosemary Eastman, Eileen Warner (Todd), and Margo Brice.

A remembrance gathering to celebrate Joe's life will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Dawson Family Center. Family and friends are invited to join in sharing memories and honoring a life well-lived.
