Joseph J. "Jim" Curran, Sr., 89

WELLSVILLE – Joseph J. "Jim" Curran, Sr., of Wellsville, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 89 years old.

Born in East Liverpool on December 31, 1935, he was the son of the late Robert A. Curran and Margaret Schmidbauer Curran. He dedicated 22 years of service as a maintenance supervisor at Quaker State. Deeply committed to his community, he volunteered with St. Ann's Kitchen and the East Liverpool City Schools.

An avid golfer and devoted parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, he found great joy in both faith and fellowship. Above all, he cherished his family and was a wonderful husband, loving father, proud grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Darlene J. Boso Curran; his daughters, Linda Boyle and her husband Kenneth, Mary Beth Tanner, and Kelly Brooks; and his son, Joseph Curran Jr. and his wife Tommy. He was a proud grandfather to Nicole and her husband Eric, Tabitha, Cory, Joey III, Ricky, Jonathan, Andrew and his wife Krethel, Jacob, Austin, and Alexandria. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition, he leaves behind his brothers, William Curran and his wife Ida Mae, and John "Jack" Curran and his wife Pat.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Marie Curran; granddaughter, Jamie Stacey; sisters, Regina Campbell and Veronica Fulmer; brothers, Robert Curran and Lawrence Curran.

Friends may visit on Monday, July 14, at the Dawson Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Fr. Bala Marneni of Holy Trinity Parish. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
