Obituary

Marcelline R. Patterson, 96

Our much beloved mother, Marcelline Ruth (Friess) Patterson, 96, of East Liverpool, peacefully passed away at Crossroads Assisted Living on February 18, 2025. Born in Wellsville on November 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Eynon and Ruth Friess.

Following Mom's graduation from Wellsville High School, she married our father, the late James B. Patterson on July 8, 1951. She proudly served as a stay-at-home mom, raising her five children, always making sure they were "tucked in" at night. We always knew to ask Mom versus Dad for anything we wanted to do, because we'd always get a yes. She loved watching Steelers football with her son Mark, and loved being visited at Crossroads by her daughter Barbara's pup Chloe. And she loved her hairdresser Brandy at Luxe Hair Salon.

Survivors include two beloved daughters: Cynthia Lee Frankart and her husband Ernest, of Fostoria, Ohio, and Barbara Ann Yanni and her husband, Michael of East Liverpool. There are three proud sons: James Curtis Patterson and his fiancée, Patricia of Longview, Washington, Mark Allen Patterson of Wellsville, and Hugh Michael Patterson and his wife, Robin of Albany, New York.

Her much beloved sister, Jean Noland survives her in Hopewell, Virginia, as well as five grandchildren: Ashley (Mark) Boehler, Bryce (Trista) Frankart, Jayson (Melissa) Yanni, Sean (Cindy) Yanni and Maggie Patterson. There are six great-grandchildren: Jordyn and Kinsley Yanni, Kamryn and Noah Yanni, and Hudson, Dawson and Ava Boehler.

Preceding her in death was her beloved brothers Sonny and Ron Friess and granddaughter, Danielle Nicole Yanni.

Our family would like to thank the wonderful staffs at Crossroads Assisted Living of Calcutta, Covington Nursing Home of East Palestine and East Liverpool City Hospital for caring for our treasured mother so well.
