SALEM, OHIO – Ruth A. Hazelet, 82, of Salem formerly of East Liverpool passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at her home.

Ruth was born in East Liverpool on July 29, 1942, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Marcella (Hargreaves) Brookes. She spent most of her life as a stay-at-home mother. Later in life Ruth became an in-home daycare provider caring for children of all ages for 9 years. She found great joy in doing so. Ruth was a longtime member of the Eturia Church of God with her parents who all had great pride in the church. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Preceding Ruth in death were her husband John Hazelet and sister Linda Horner.

Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters Danice Hambleton, Pennie Dailey and Casey Hazelet; three grandchildren Dustin Hambleton, Olivia Dailey and Sara McCoy; sister Barbara Wharton and brother Wilbur Brookes and his wife Janet.

Friends may visit Saturday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 3 to 5 p.m. Evangelist Will Montgomery of St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ will conduct a funeral service Saturday 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
