EAST LIVERPOOL – Samuel E. "Sam" Johnson, of East Liverpool, passed away peacefully Monday morning, January 29, 2024, at his home. He was 61.

Born in East Liverpool, July 24, 1962, he was a son of the late Iva Johnson Watkins and was also raised by his grandparents, Samuel and Helen Johnson. He loved to share his story of faith with others and what God had done in his life.

Above all things in life, Sam loved and adored his family. He is survived by his wife, Lisa A. Johnson, whom he married September 30, 2000. Together they have a son, Samuel E. Johnson II and his wife, Victoria, and their son, Samuel E. Johnson III, who resides at home. A daughter survives, Jessica Barker of Newell, and her children Nathan and Liam Campbell.

Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers and sister, Junior Watkins, Clara "Sissy" Price (Becky), Albert Watkins (Patty), and Alvin Watkins (Tara), as well as his mother and father-in-law, Gary and June Farnsworth, and two sisters-in-law, Patricia Farnsworth (Chelsea) and Carolyn Stanley (Dan), and many nieces and nephews.
