Obituary for Patricia L. Brooks (Brooks)

Patricia L. Brooks, of Wilmington, North Carolina, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. She was 77.

Patricia, known as Patti to her friends, was born in East Liverpool, August 5, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Major and T. Louise Hughes Brooks. A resident of this area nearly all her life and a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church until moving to Wilmington three years ago to live with her cousin, Janet McBane. She graduated with the East Liverpool High School Class of 1956 and later attended the Ohio Valley Business College. She was a buyer for Hills Department Stores in Boston, MA for several years. When she returned to East Liverpool to assist her parents with their failing health, she changed her career to the medical field.

A certified medical assistant and a member of the American Association of Medical Assistants, she worked as a clinical tech in the cardiopulmonary department at the Beaver Medical Center.

Patti is survived by many cousins, all of whom she considered her sisters. She is also survived by her best friend, Donna Ferguson, and two cats, Peaches and Baby.

Friends may visit Friday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Rev. Norman Eckert will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
