The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Ruby Barcus can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Cherished friends

John, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother, Ruby. I have fond memories of you and Debbie coming to the Sturgis House staying with me. I remember the first time I met you. You came in with that accent asking me if I had any rooms open. I said, "yes." Then you preceded to say, "ok, my BOSS is out in my truck, I'll have to see if it's ok that we stay here!" When Deb walked through the door I had to chuckle. She was so good to the residents at Cross Roads. I remembered all those pillows she made everyone. She came back the day she passed them out and had told me she had to make another one because there was a new man in the house now. All those wonderful gifts that she bought for bingo prizes, what a gracious person she was. I'm sorry that Sturgis has been closed since January. I know that you would have stayed with me over this sad time of the passing of your mom. I miss you and Deb. Hope Deb's knees are better....mine is not! Probably will have to have the other one done next year by a new Dr. not the one who did my right knee. You know that I would have come to see you guys but we are on vacation. I would love to keep in contact with you guys. Thank you for the memories you gave me at Sturgis when coming up from Kentucky to visit your mom. Although I never met her I felt that I knew her through pictures you shared and stories of her.
