Obituary for Michael Peary Wilson

Michael P. Wilson, 68

ROGERS, OH - Michael P. Wilson, of Sprucevale Road, Clarkson, passed away at home September 10, 2015 following a lengthy illness. He was 68.

Born in East Liverpool, May 17, 1947, he was a son of the late Roscoe and Martha Eberhart Wilson. He was a member of the Oak Glen Class of 1965 and later earned a degree in construction supervision. A member of the Carpenter Union Local 922, he then retired from the Daly Seven Development Company as a superintendent in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

A member of the U.S. Army, he served in Vietnam. He was a member of a woodcarving club in Chester and enjoyed playing the banjo and guitar.

He is survived by his wife, Lane K. Rice Wilson, at home. The couple married November 23, 1966. He is also survived by two daughters, Misti Watson and her husband, Jerry, of East Liverpool, and Casey Hartley and her husband, Lee, of Rogers, and three sons, Chad Wilson and his wife, Jennece, of Lisbon, Brett Wilson and his fiancée, Gail, of Lisbon and Zachary Wilson and his fiancée, Anna, of Wake Forest, North Carolina.

There are 13 grandchildren: Jenna Kane, Justine Watson, Hunter Hartley, Sydney Hartley, Erika Askounes, Nathanial Hartley, Chase Hartley, Joe Gregory, Shawna Mackall, Steven Wilson, Katie Wilson, Brittany Wilson, and Andrea Wilson; and 6 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by 3 sisters, Marilyn Register of Virginia, Ruby Lou Washburn and her husband, Floyd, of Arizona and Susan Garner of East Palestine; as well as 2 brothers, Robert Wilson of East Liverpool and Roscoe Wilson and his wife, Judy, of New Manchester.

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Dane Wilson, a sister Marceline Adkins, and a brother Jack Wilson.

A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit Monday at the funeral home where the family will be present from 11 am to the time of the service.

Burial will be at Clarkson Cemetery.
