Obituary for Priscilla Craft (Birch)

PRISCILLA BIRCH CRAFT, 93

EAST LIVERPOOL – Priscilla Birch Craft, 93, formerly of Richardson Avenue, passed away peacefully at Calcutta Health Care Center Wednesday morning at 11:30 a.m., November 30, 2016.

Born in East Liverpool on May 21, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Dwight and Mary Ella Miller Birch.

She was a 1942 graduate of East Liverpool high School and had been employed Ohio Bell from 1943-1953.

A former member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, Priscilla had received their Heritage Award, was an ordained Elder, past Moderator of the Presbyterian Women, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school at one time. She presently was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Preceding her in death was her husband of 45 years, George R. “Dick” Craft, Sr., whom she married on October 12, 1946.

Priscilla is survived by her two sons, George R. Craft, Jr., and his wife Jackie, of Bluffton, SC, and Bruce A. Craft, and his wife Melody, of Columbiana. There are four grandchildren, Jason Craft (Nancy), Ashley Phelps (Andrew), Megan Ewing and Kelly Craft, and seven great-grandchildren who survive as well.

In addition to her parents and husband, preceding her in death were three sisters and two brothers.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Calcutta Health Care Center. Their kindness and special care given to our beloved mother from the first day to her last has touched our hearts. We will be forever grateful.

Following Priscilla’s wishes private family services were held Monday and burial was in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
