Hello, first let me express my sorrow for your great loss. I found this gentleman when I Googled "J.P. Johnston 3rd & Broadway, East Liverpool, Ohio. I have been looking for the Johnston cousins for over 12 years. It is my deepest wish to contact them before the end of my life. I am sure this gentleman is my cousin because he looks somewhat like my great grandfather, Francis Johnston. Francis Johnston and his wife Elizabeth Emily Spencer are also buried at Riverview in the old section. I have been there and taken pictures. I am going again in the 2nd week or so of this October, 2018. Also, in Willis Johnston's obituary I see his son lives or lived in Canton, Ohio. My mother was from Canton although born in Ironton.
I have a very very old picture of a woman by the name of J.P. Johnston. It looks like the picture is taken anywhere in perhaps the mid 1850's or perhaps a little later. I have worked hard through ancestry.com and so many other sites to try and find out who Francis Johnston's parent's were and what happened to Francis family. I do know a lot, but really so much wish to contact my Johnston cousins. My great grandfather lineage is as follows:
Francis Johnston who married Elizabeth Emily Spencer
His son was Curtis Benton Johnston (I carry the middle name) and he married Sarah Elizabeth Jack
Francis Johnston's daughter was Annetta Johnston who married James Harvey Fishel
Curtis Johnston's children were, Harry Johnston, Smith Otto Johnston, Seibert (Bert) Johnston, and my grandmother Catherine Irene Johnston (she married George Alexander/Washington Koonce).
My mother was Mary Ellen Koonce (who married my father Alfred Edward Quick)
Please forgive the completely improperness of this story, but I so would love to meet the Johnston family.
I again am Lynda Curtis "Quick" Dostal, married 46 years, 2 children, age 71 and live in Beaumont, CA. If you want to check me out, I am on FB.
My e-mail is reeljoy260@yahoo.com (that's reel as in a fishing reel)
My home phone is (951) 769-9571
Thank you and wishing the Johnston family well...Lynda
