Obituary for Gloria Ann Moore (Preston)

MARIETTA, OH – Gloria Ann Preston Moore, of East Liverpool, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 7, 2017 with her family by her side at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta. She was 78.

Born in Wellsville, February 20, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Almarion William and Pearl Stetson Preston. A lifetime area resident, she was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1957 and was a homemaker. Later in life, she was a member of the East Liverpool Area Seniors.

A devoted wife, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Moore, on April 10, 2011. The couple married on her 22nd birthday, February 20, 1960.

She was a beloved mother of three children: Tina M. Richardson and her husband, Richard, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Elizabeth “Beth” DeCosmo and her husband, Brian, of Longwood, Florida, Gregory T. Moore and his wife Pamela “Susie”, of Paden City, West Virginia.

There are eight grandchildren: Veronica Conkle, William Conkle, Francis “Shaun” Gasson, Blair Swindells, Bobby Dawson, Anthony Moore, Trey Moore and Gregory Moore, as well as eight great-grandchildren, Desirae, Elizabeth, William, Ronald and Steven Conkle, Austin Hughes, Saylor Mace and Skylar Gasson, along with one great-great-granddaughter, Morgan Long.

In addition, there are two brothers: Charles Neal and his wife, Florence “Dimples”, of Edmond, Oklahoma and Paul Preston and his wife, Judy, of Lisbon.

Dr. Pastor Bill Wagner will conduct a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.

Burial will be at Calcutta Cemetery.
