Obituary for Dolores Mary Hawk (Pierce)

Dolores Mary “Dee” Hawk, of Westfield, New York, formerly of East Liverpool and Massillon, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at the Corry Manor Nursing Home in Corry, Pennsylvania. She was 93.

Born in Barberton, Ohio, July 30, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Virgil H. and Mary Derth Pierce. She was raised in East Liverpool and lived most of her life in Massillon, Ohio. She attended Kent State University and was a member of St. Dominic Parish in Westfield and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Canton. She was the co-owner of Town Squires Men’s Shop in Canton as well as Comet Cleaners in Massillon. Previously, she worked at the B.F. Goodrich Company. For the past 10 years she had resided in Westfield, New York.

Survivors include her niece Mary L. Harmon-Dupre of Newport Beach, CA; the family of Gloria J. McCormick of Westfield, NY and Hartville, OH; a great niece Brett Harmon of Newport Beach, CA.

Her husband, William Hawk, preceded her in death along with two sons, William F. Hawk and David Hawk, as well as her sister, Betty Van Fossen.

A graveside burial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Spring Grove Cemetery in East Liverpool. Arrangements are being conducted by the Dawson Funeral Home.
