Obituary for Estella "Sis" Meredith

Estella Rose “Sis” Shamp Meredith, 80

LISBON – Estella Rose “Sis” Shamp Meredith, of Lisbon, passed away Monday morning, March 16, 2020, following a lengthy illness. She was 80.

Born in Calcutta, October 29, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Earl L. and Thelma Louise Cooper Shamp. A lifetime area resident, she was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1957. She worked at Homer Laughlin China Company for 33 years until she retired in 2003.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard P. Meredith, on December 25, 2016. The couple married December 27, 1958. They made their home in this area and raised their family with pride. She enjoyed sewing and crafts and feeding the hummingbirds, but above all things in life she loved her family, especially her five grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Lynda Dickson (Dan) of Lisbon, as well as two sons, Keith Meredith (Heidi) of Lisbon, and Scott Meredith (Cheryl) of Maineville, Ohio. There are five grandchildren: Eric Dickson of Asheville, North Carolina, Danielle Lariccia (Joel) of Niles, Emily Meredith of Pittsburgh, Claire Meredith and Laurel Meredith, both of Lisbon, as well as one great-grandson, Nico Lariccia.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Richard W. Meredith, and a brother, Earl Shamp.

There will be no visitation at this time. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date when family and friends can attend.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in care of the Beaver Locals Schools Foundation, P.O. Box 2503, Calcutta, Ohio 43920.
