Harold Donald Taylor, 74

EAST LIVERPOOL – Harold “Don” Taylor, 74, passed away suddenly at his home on Homestead Boulevard in East Liverpool Thursday evening, December 31, 2015.

A son of the late Harold E. and Nellie Green Taylor, he was born on December 9, 1941 in Cambridge, Ohio. His family had come to this area when he was young, and he remained here ever since.

A 1959 graduate of East Liverpool High School, Don was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1959 to 1963. He was a member of the American Legion Post #376, he also enjoyed fly fishing and was Catholic by faith.

Don was retired from the former Crucible Steel Corp, Allegheny Ludlum Plant, and had worked at one time at the former Sterling China Company. Along with his wife, Cheryl, he was the owner of the former Calcutta Bed & Breakfast, which they opened together in 2011.

His wife, Cheryl Nalette-Taylor, survives him at home. They were married September 19, 2006.

Also surviving is a daughter, Melissa Klotz and her husband, Ryan, of Watertown, NY, and a son, Richard Taylor of Portland, OR. There are two stepsons, Lt. Col. Kevin Nalette and his wife, Kristen, serving with the U.S. Air Force in Ramstein, Germany, and Dana Nalette and his fiancée, Heather Hughes, of Toronto, OH.

Also surviving is a brother, Charles R. Taylor, of Las Vegas, NV, as well as 10 grandchildren: Jacob Klotz, Melanie Nalette-Thompson, USMC, and her husband, George, Dakota Nalette, U.S. Army, Robert Nalette, Eric Hughes, Amanda Hughes, Krista Hughes, Dominic Hughes, Dallas Shaw and Autumn Shaw. Don also leaves behind three great-grandchildren: Zayne Felt, Alexander Ryan Hughes and Emery Thompson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Jean Ribar Taylor, a his brother, Clifford K. Taylor, and two half-brothers, Floyd Taylor and Raymond Taylor.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
