JEANETTE C. MARTIN LORD, 91

CALCUTTA – On Friday afternoon, November 17, 2017, Jeanette C. Martin Lord passed away at Allay Senior Care Center in Lisbon surrounded by her family. A daughter of the late Frank and Sabina Seibert Martin, she was born August 8, 1926 in Evansville, Indiana, and moved to the Calcutta area with her late husband, Robert W. Lord in 1967.

She was a graduate of Youngstown State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Jeanette will long be remembered as the 6th, 7th and 8th grade teacher at the former St. Aloysius School.

A longtime member of the Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church, Jeanette and Robert were the parents of six children: Becky Hale, and her husband Jim of East Liverpool, Cynthia Campbell, and her husband Clyde, also of East Liverpool, Daniel Lord of Evansville, Michael Lord, and his wife Deborah, of Kittanning, Robert Lord of Midland, and Richard Lord and his wife Betty, of Jacksonville.

Along with her children, Jeanette leaves behind her nine grandchildren: Amy Poynter, Sarah Phillips, Emily Phillips, Amanda Rizer, Robert Lord, Christopher Lord, Abby Hale, Melissa Wehrmeyer and Devyn Lord. There are 11 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, June and Joan Preske, both of Evansville. In addition to her parents and her husband, Jeanette is preceded by two sisters, Judy Jones and Gloria Edmunds, and her two brothers, Marcellus and Jerome Martin.

Friends may visit with the family at the Dawson Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Fr. Peter Haladej will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church. Jeanette will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery.
