Mike worded Jack's servant spirit so well. When we were growing up, Uncle Jackie always welcomed us to their farmhouse. He loved Grandma Heck well for all of her life. One memory I remember when thinking of Uncle Jack was how he shared with me all the poetry he wrote. His poetry reflected his deep love for God .As a strong believer in Jesus Christ, I am assured Uncle Jack is with Jesus now, and I will see him again.

Uncle Jack was the unsung hero of the Heck family. He served our nation during which he was stationed in Greenland, performing maintenance on generators and other duties. Sometime after his discharge, My Grandpa Elmer Heck had to retire because of dementia. Jack faithfully devoted many years of his life to caring for his dad and mom. Grandma Catherine leaned on Jack for support in many ways and he never failed to provide. After Grandpa passed away, Jack continued his support for Grandma during her remaining years. Jack loved baseball. He worked many years at Parson Coal. He married later in life. He was grounded in his faith always. But what I will always admire most about my uncle is the selfless devotion he showed to his mom and dad. May he rest in peace.
