Obituary for Joni Sue Marker (Marker)

EAST LIVERPOOL – Joni Sue Marker, of East Liverpool, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 56.

Born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, March 24, 1960, she was a daughter of Shirley Shaffer Marker and the late Edward R. Marker. A resident of this area most of her life, she was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1978. After high school, she lived in California for 10 years until returning to East Liverpool where she worked for several area businesses but most knew her best as a friendly face at the Calcutta Giant Eagle. She loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Riley A. Mason, of East Liverpool, and a brother, Jay Marker, of East Liverpool. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary R. Marker, Brent E. Marker and John T. Marker.

Rev. Willard “Chuck” Adkins will conduct a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit 2 hours prior to the service. Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.

A private burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
