Obituary for Marjorie K. Brick (Bloor)

EAST LIVERPOOL – Marjorie K. “Marge” Brick, of East Liverpool, passed away Wednesday morning, November 4, 2015 at the Orchards of East Liverpool following a lengthy illness. She was 86.

Born in East Liverpool, February 8, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Ruth Marie Wilkins Bloor. A resident of this area all her life, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school and Bible school teacher, along with being active in the Rebecca Joy Circle, Esther Bible Club and the Quilters Club. A member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1947, she had worked at the Travelers Hotel Restaurant, Loblaws and Kroger Grocery Stores, and Reese Jewelers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon D. Brick, on October 22, 1990. The couple married in 1947. She was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Brick, two sisters, Flora Young and Mildred Skidmore, and a brother, W. Robert Bloor.

She leaves behind her children: a daughter, Jennifer Barnard and her husband, Randy, of Lisbon, and two sons, David Brick and his wife, Carol, of Indian Land, South Carolina, and Mark Brick of East Liverpool. There are seven grandchildren: Jason Brick and his wife, Aurora, Kevin Brick and his wife, Jessica, Sunny Rae Brick, Heather Brick Saunders and her wife, Chandra, Joshua Barnard and his wife, Ashley, Autumn Barnard, and Gage Nicholas Brick, as well as eight great-grandchildren: Seth, Gabriela, Alexa, Avah, Austin, Amelia, Kenzley and Gracen.

Two sisters also survive: Dorothy “Dot” Young and Mary Lou Heidel and her husband, Charles.

Rev. Larry S. Hukill of the church will conduct a funeral service Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Fellowship Hall at the First United Methodist Church.
