Obituary for Norman R Rambo

EAST LIVERPOOL – Norman R. Rambo, of East Liverpool, passed away Tuesday morning, December 8, 2015 at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Sewickley. He was 75.

Born in East Liverpool, July 2, 1940, he was a son of the late Raymond and Margaret Sheville Rambo. He was a graduate of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1958 and attended the Ohio Valley Business College.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a medic stationed in Hawaii and Okinawa. For 30 years he worked for the East Liverpool City Fire Department until his retirement in 1994. He attended Boyce United Methodist Church and lived in this area his entire life. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. He was a member and former trustee of the Columbiana County Fish and Game Association.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Kay Mathias Rambo. The couple married July 3, 1962. He is also survived by one son, Rikk Rambo and his wife, Joanne.

There are three brothers, Gary Rambo and his wife, Marge, of Leetonia, Jerry Rambo and his wife, Penni, of Calcutta and Raymond Rambo Jr. of Colorado.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Rambo, and a brother Jay Rambo.

Friends may visit Thursday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Rev. Alvin Talkington will conduct a funeral service Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Calcutta Cemetery where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.
