Obituary for Jack W. Humphreys

JACK W. HUMPHREYS, 88

EAST LIVERPOOL – Jack. W. Humphreys, born in East Liverpool on August 10, 1929, passed away at Calcutta Health Care Center and went to be with his Lord and Savior at 12:03 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2018. He was 88.

A son of the late Donald D. and Mattie Southall Humphreys, Jack had spent his entire life in this area, most recently living on Ohio Avenue in East Liverpool. He had been the owner operator of the former Humphreys Greenhouse, and had been a packer at Homer Laughlin China for nearly 24 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the GPPAW Union.

Two daughters survive: Mary Springer, of East Liverpool, and Carrie Darnell and her husband, Frank, of Newell. There are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death on October 17, 1995 by a son, Jack W. Humphreys, Jr.

In addition, he was preceded by two sisters, Betty McGurren and Ruth Davisson, and by two brothers, William Humphreys and Donald Humphreys.

A funeral service will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. on Monday with Evangelist Will Montgomery of the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the service.

Burial will take place at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens.
